| I am fascinated by the changes in Scooter's behavior since we've moved and I am wondering how to interpret them. It's basically a positive change -- it's almost as if someone hit the reset button to produce the bird we had when we first got him, after he'd settled in a bit. He's very affectionate and hardly ever bites. He's more interested in interaction than in "playing house".
I assume that either: 1) The move has made him somewhat insecure and when he doesn't feel he is "cock of the walk" he's a lot more needy.
OR
2) The move interrupted his sense of territory and indeed all the negative aspects of behavior were almost purely territorial in nature.
Does anyone have any insight? I'd hate to think I have to keep my bird slightly unhappy for him to be sweet...
The changes in the other two are minor -- Blanco seems exactly the same, but he really never settled in to the old place. Scotty seems a bit less perky, his play isn't quite as raucous, but he's otherwise exactly the same Scotty he always has been.

| I vote it's a little of both. I'd think he'll back to his old self pretty quickly. Hey ! enjoy it for as long as it last. LOL | |

| I'm with Henpecked, it's likely a bit of both and temporary. Enjoy it while it lasts, it's sure to go back to normal soon! | |

| CB has apparently been entirely sweet and loving with the new foster. They're just weird little birds. | |

| When Rory comes to my house he turns into the sweetest little man, when he's at home with with BF he remembers his manners (except for last night when he bit me then threw a tantrum when I growled at him for it, think 2 yr old style blowfly on the floor like this ), but isn't sweet and cuddly like when he's here with me. | |

| I agree with the above. Once you move, they all lose their territorial rights and have to start over. Kind of like "If I act like an Angel, mom will pick me to be head of the class". It doesn't last long. When we moved last year, remember, Sebastian, who adores me, wouldn't come out of his cage and became cage aggressive. I think that was fear because he didn't know where he was. It took my three months to re-hand train him to step up and out of his cage. | |

| Keep in mind moving is a nice way to change old habits. If there's any behavior you want to work on modifying so they don't re-establish, or you want to establish new behaviors, now's a good time to do it. | |

| Roz, yes, that wasn't entirely lost on me. I'm just not sure where I went wrong the first time, so I'm not sure I'll avoid making the same mistake! | |

| So, he's still being affectionate, but he's getting a little more argy-bargy. Interesting. | |

| Try being a little more dominating, fuss at him when he gets snooty or "send" him away. | |
