My dream bird is Amazon. I don't know when and if I'll ever get one and if so it will have to be not baby. Right now I live in apartment and officially I have 2 birds, so any extra noise would caught unnecessary attention
So after having 4 crazy and hypo budgies and cute Tiel I think about Scarlet-Chested or Turquoisine (both Australian species) or Lineolated. Since I was on Birds Fair, they look better in real, than in pictures:
Scarlet-Chested
Turquoisine
It's hard to find hand-fed species of both and that's what I want.
Lineolated
What kind of bird(you think now) it will be your next?

I swear, if my next bird isn't either a whiteface lutino cockatiel or a lovebird (black masked or blue peachfaced), I will go (even) crazy(er).
I'm hoping the order will be: :Cockatoo: and

I've spent so much time reading about ekkies I haven't researched much else, but I think Linnies look adorable I also have a soft spot for Amazons since that was my first parrot, even though they would be much too much noise for my house right now. Right now my bird of interest is a Galah ... I just think they're beaauuuutiful

Why Linnies are on my list? Because they're size like budgies, but not that hypo like them- from what I have read. I think will be a good companion for They're both not that crazy as budgies. About Scarlet-Chested or Turquoisine, there is not that much information, but when you see one alive... Even my boyfriend fall in love

If Husband had his first pick, it would be a Blue & Gold Macaw (I love the Military Macaws..but since I came into this relationship with three fids, Husband should be able to choose one ). I used to have a lot of fun with them when I worked with them, and think they're amazing.
I LOVE Goffins, but they're so much trouble. I did meet one at the Parrot club last week - he jumped off his owner's lap and ran around the room laughing in the middle of the seminar. Moments like that make me see the trouble, yet still yearn it .

I'm done for a while, I am happy with my 3 at the moment. In a few years when my youngest starts school I should also be done with college and hopefully back to work. Once that new normal sets in I've always dreamed of an African Grey. Lately though, I've been giving serious thought to an Eclectus or a Jardines. I've never even considered a cockatoo but had SO much fun playing with a few baby Goffins last weeked- although I am still fearful of the demands of one. I think I will just enjoy other peoples cockatoos;

The next bird I'm going to get is a Kakariki.
The size of a cockatiel, with the energy level of a budgie on crack. Seriously.
They make the sweetest "bebebebe" sounds.

Im either going to end up with a sun conure that ive been dreaming about for years or a hyacinth macaw (im kind of obsessed with them). But who knows the fiancee wants a cockatoo of some sort. He fell in love with a sweet girl at the local bird store. She s so friendly she will let anyone scratch her back and pull her feathers.

I think I'm good for now and since I get to play with so many at the rescue, I tend to get my urges out of my system. Funny thing is that before I had birds, I was always interested in sun conures and almost got one. Now I have several I can play with and I enjoy them when I can. I also would love to get a rosella but I have never seen one in person and would like to see how their moods are first.

I want to have two or three parrots eventually (and I'll stop there, I promise!!) I really do want an amazon even though the only one I know has decided we are not friends but I had an amazing time at a pet store with one, he was such a fun guy, I don't know how I managed to walk out without him (or the giant baby cockatoo for that matter, their cuteness is unfair). Somehow I don't think an amazon will be my next bird just because of circumstance. I would not say no to another conure (thinking jenday, cherry head or (drool) pantagonian?? or I could go the other route and go for one of the little guys) but they do have their patented conure shriek to think about, I'd need the right housing/situation. I'm not looking for a super cuddly bird though, rainbow fills my cuddling quota, just one I'd be able to hang out with. If I'm super lucky I'll end up with a bird who can be rainbow's bud. I've always wanted two birds who got along and could entertain eachother. Other than that, I think it'll all come down to the bird I fall in love when the circumstances are right

I'm trying not to add more birds right now; two's enough for me. But enough doesn't keep me from wanting a kookaburra, a Hahn's macaw, and an emerald toucanet. I know two of those aren't really parrots but at least they're birds. And most of all I want a flock of bourkes!! Maybe five of them, a mix of rosy and regular because I love both. Most of the wilder mutations I don't particularly care for, but they'd be cool to have too. If/when (probably when) I get another bird it is 99% likely to be a bourke. The 1% is only there for another bird that's "meant to be" like Ducky.
But I'm not really a bird person, which is sort of problematic to my desires.

I was seriously considered Kakariki too. But after doing research about those cuties, I don't want to have parrot , who suddenly die with unknown reason. Wish you good luck zazanomore

I think the breeding stock is much better here in Canada.

Been holding back on this one but here is the order and knowing me it won't stop there since my aviary is now built. Caique pair, Eclectus pair, Blue Front pair, Sun pair. In the meantime I am in search of a male blue IRP and a male OWA. This is just the short list

More and more I want a Rosella, though I've never personally seen one and would want to see how their nature is to see if they would be a good fit. Anyone have any experience with them?

Afreind of mine has breeders and at times lots of babies. The only ones i've been around are the babies and of course they are very sweet, lay on their backs and play that sort of thing , also don't seem to be very noisy, but then again i've only been around the babies.

I've heard varying degrees of that.... that young ones are quiet and playful but adults can be nasty and antisocial. I love them because they are beautiful, but I don't want one for mere decoration. If I can't interact with it, I don't see the reason to have one. I will have to check Bird Paradise to see if they have any in and I will go see how they are.

I have two pairs of eastern rosellas. Don't know if there's personality differences amonst the different types of rosellas. I would think there'd be some differences. I haven't had babies yet. They are known for primarily being aviary birds. I can understand where that comes from. The pairs are very fllighty and seem very high strung. Noisewise - their vocalizations are very melodic, definitely not any sort of scream. I'll try to see if I can record it and put a file up. May take me awhile. They don't like to vocalize while people are around.

So they are non-touch birds or can you actually inetract with them? I wouldn't be getting a pair, and perhaps if I get one young enough I can get it used to socialization.
