| Soooo soorry for your loss. I always prefer not to find body parts and fantasize that they found a new home.
Ankle ties? Really? Is that what the Wild Animal Park (or whatever the heck they call it now) does? I don't ever see them on the macaws on the stands. I need to look closer. I thought for some reason ankle ties were really bad on parrots. Something about their legs weren't as strong as raptors so jesses aren't safe on parrots like they are on raptors.

| The parrots on the stands are pinioned but our education birds are all flighted and get ankle ties because it's not "ugly" on the birds. I for one think it's dumb but it's 20 years of ignorance being practiced at a zoo meant for mass producing endangered species. | |

I really did not know that. . . So that completely explains why they don't ever even try to leave those stands.

| I'm making some bird deliveries to Carlsbad this afternoon and I have to go through Escondido to and from the delivery. I'll bring a 10 week old baby sun with me in case you get the chance to call me to play with it. This sun's already got a new home, but the more socializing the better. My phone number's on my blog. Don't be shy. | |
