...they are adorable?

and I believe they are aratinga's like the suns and a bit smaller than a gcc(or maybe thats the orange fronted conure? they look very similiar). I've seen one or two at the bird store I think.. I've also read in multiple places that they can learn to talk. don't know much else..

All of what you said is true.

They're also called Half moon conures.

We have one at the rescue and she is very sweet. A little nippy but nothing brutal. Loves to chatter and talks a bit. Very playful.

I've heard that they aren't very loud, is that true?

Not much other than they get confused w/ half moon conures - peach fronts have black beaks, half moons have horn colored beaks. They used to be common (around here) back 20 years ago. Another $50 swap meet bird. Not so common any more. I've played with a few but not enough to give any sort of opinion about them.

I wish I had seen this thread before!!

Maaaan! Or...ya know, taken the time to look it up. My grandma keeps talking about her dad's bird Joe that they took when Greatgrandpa passed away (before I was born). She kept calling him a "half moon...." what sounds like ka-ner (think manure with a k instead of the m) Oi!

She's crazy...and I love her...

Aside from the chattering, the peach -fronted that we have is relative silent. He's caged next to a sun pair and a dusky pair and they are by far much louder.
