| As most of you know the newest rescues came to us a couple of months ago. I wanted to give an update for those interested. I have spent a bit of time talking and listening to them and of course giving them all of the respect they deserve and this is their story and the result to date. Binkey is a Female Yellow Nape Amazon of 12 years. She was purchased from a breeder in Fl at the age of 6 months. She was a hand fed baby. The previous owner played with her "some at first" and then "knowing she wouldn't have time" she stopped taking her out of the cage and only ever talked to her when she was in town. She has been caged for the better part of 10 years.  I can pet her and she holds my fingers and gets a bit frantic when I am moving away but still is unsure of stepping on to my hand, I can wait the best things are worth it. Mickey is a Male Red Lored Amazon of more than 30 years. He came to the previous owner as a "wild caught" bird just over 24 years ago. She told me the bird had always been caged. So for well over 20 years this bird has lived behind bars. I affectionately call him my "Jailbird" he has flown away with my heart. I know both of these birds would be on a much different path with someone else and I am blessed to have their trust and respect in return. | |

| It always amazes me that birds can be so forgiving and still trust people even though they have been ignored for so long | |

| Such lucky babies they are, and a blessed person you are as well to be loved and trusted by so many who have little reason to trust. I envy the opportunities you have and am glad you're able to share your home the way you are.  I cannot wait to have the opportunity to meet you two! | |

| Can I move there and live with you? I offer my cleaning services, just to be able to see all of those cuties  I start to be paranoid about 'zons. I need help or 'zon!!! Each time I read your stories I'm speechless. Those birds are the luckiest one in the world to have you guys! | |
