| Piper hates being touched, having hands (or other birds and toys) too close to him, or being pet. But for the past few days, he's been testing his wings and, since his wings haven't grown in, landing on the floor. When I call him, he's lately been scooting himself across the floor and stepping up on my finger. He'll then hang out on my shoulder and preen my hair and cheek for 15 or so minutes. It looks like my little Piper actually does like human attention, if only on his terms. Pigpen still hates being touched or bothered, but she's taken to hovering over my head to make sure I'm not hurting her friend. Maybe she'll come around and realize she likes me, too. | |

| Nice!! Spice is exactly the opposite. I can lift her her wings, touch anywhere, grab her like a soda can, hold her on her back in my palm, and she won't mind most of the time. But we won't actually "hang out". | |

But we won't actually "hang out". Maybe if we bred them, we'd get an ideal budgie! It's so funny to see him come shuffling across the floor to step up, but if I raise my hand to him while he's on my shoulder, he tries to fly away. Baby steps, I guess.

Piper. I think he's afraid of movement. If anything is moved around or near him, he automatically tries to fly away.
